THE W.T. WOODSON ATHLETIC BOOSTER
GOAL/PURPOSE: The W.T. Woodson Athletic Boosters are awarding a $1,500 scholarship to a 2018 graduating W.T. Woodson (WTW) High School (HS) Senior who can articulate how his/her involvement with the WTW sports program has had a positive impact on his/her tenure while attending W.T. Woodson High School.
CRITERIA: Applicants must
Be a graduating W.T. Woodson Senior
Be a U.S. citizen and resident of Fairfax County
Have a 2.0 or better GPA
Have been accepted to an institute of higher learning
Demonstrate personal integrity
Applicants must be associated with W.T. Woodson athletics either through direct or indirect participation (e.g., direct: an athlete, team manager, team photographer, etc. or indirect: someone who enjoyed watching Woodson sport(s) or wrote about Woodson sports).
Submit an essay about how your association with WTW athletics has made a positive impact on your life while at W.T. Woodson HS.

The essay shall not exceed two pages, double-spaced (New Times Roman, 12 point)

2017 Winter Sports Tryout Eligibility Information
Physicals must be submitted to the Activities Office (C103 door #3) by 3:00PM Thursday November 2, 2017
First Day of Tryouts for Winter Sports is November 6, 2017
ALL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS BELOW MUST BE MET BY 3PM THURSDAY November 2, 2017 for WINTER TRYOUTS.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Easy as 1, 2, 3.
1. In order to participate in any sport, practice or tryout, each student-athlete must have submitted the VHSL (revised February 2017) Athletic Participation/Parental Consent/Physical Examination Form to the Student Activities Office. The physical must be completed on or after May 1, 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year. Make a copy for your records. One form is required for EACH school year. *Please review all eligibility requirements on the first page of the VHSL form.
2. ALSO REQUIRED: MANDATED CONCUSSION PROGRAM must be completed by the student-athlete and one parent in order to tryout.Students and parents must complete separate programs. Go to www.fcps.edu/sports and then click on Concussion Education for Parents & Students to complete.

3. Emergency Care form must be completed and turned in to the coach's mailbox in the Activities office.

Parents must pick you up from LBSS after practice. Arrange Rides in Advance.
Required to try out:
New VHSL Physical, Emergency Care Card, & Athlete/Parent Concussion Test taken
Talk with Coach Hagan-Bowerman/Coach White in advance about arranging a possible revised practice schedule for the season.
