Boys JV Lacrosse

Tryouts for the 2019 season begin Monday, 2/18 at 2pm. Below is pertinent information for anyone wishing to tryout. Please contact Coach Hilliard at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. You can also follow our twitter account @WTWBoysLacrosse for any announcements or changes.
Paperwork (required in order to tryout by VHSL rules):
- Physical: Your physician must use the VHSL form. You can pick up a hard copy outside of the Activities office or follow the link below. Bring the completed physical to Coach Hilliard or the training staff
- Concussion Ed: Players and parents must complete these. This is required by FCPS. Be sure to enter the students student ID number. While it may let you watch the video without filling it in, the record of you watching it will not show up as completed by you without entering the student ID. See the link below to watch the video.
IF BOTH OF THE ABOVE ITEMS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED FOR ANOTHER ACTIVITY FOR THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR, YOU DO NOT NEED TO COMPLETE IT AGAIN
- Emergency care form: Even if you did one for another activity, FCPS requires that you complete it again for lacrosse. See the link below:
Tryout meeting: Wednesday 2/6, Room B206, 3:05 - 3:35
Juniors and seniors, Tuesday 2/12, 345pm, Lacrosse locker room (located near entrance 5).
Freshmen and Sophomores: Wednesday 2/13, 345pm, Lacrosse locker room
Tryouts will last a minimum of 3 days. Approximate workout times for the first week are as follows (this may change due to weather and/or turf availability):
Plan A = Outside
Plan B = Inside
Monday 2/18 -
Plan A: Meet in locker room at 2pm. Approximate end time 600pm.
Plan B: Meet in locker room 6:30pm. Finished by 900pm.
Plan A: 4pm to 7pm
Plan B: 500pm to 700pm
Wednesday 2/20 -
Plan A: 345pm to 600pm
Plan B: Same time but inside.
Plan A: 630pm to 900pm
Plan B: 600pm to 800pm
Plan A: 415pm to 700pm
Plan B: 600pm to 800pm
Saturday 2/23 - 930am to 12pm (same time for inside or outside).

If schools are closed for the whole day or are dismissed early, there is no lacrosse. There should be a special announcement from FCPS if Activities are cancelled on Monday. If not, be sure to check your email and our twitter account: @WTWBoysLacrosse
All players will be evaluated on physical abilities (speed, agility, conditioning), lacrosse skills (stickwork, field and situational awareness) and other factors including but not limited to coachability.
Players new to the sport are welcome to tryout.
